The saying time flies when you’re having fun is so true.
This week is Ryan’s and my six year anniversary of dating! Though we’ve been super busy with work, we were able to have a nice dinner last night to celebrate and we’re going to go out for dinner on Saturday.
Ryan surprised me with delicious Indian food and Insomnia Cookies (healthy eating was forgotten last night!).
Here’s our first ever picture together at Marist. We look so young!!!
I still haven’t run since the NYC Marathon… I should probably start up again… oops! I am going to Pure Barre though which I’m totally addicted to again 🙂 If there isn’t a studio near you and recommend buying one of the videos. They’re awesome!

This weekend was so much fun! Ryan and I had a blast at Fall Fete on Saturday night. We meet up with our friends Mallory and Matt, had some drinks, appetizers and looked over the auction items.
I guess we’re all a little competitive and chose which items we had to have… Ryan really wanted one basket, so I could not lose. We won two baskets…We also won a Sprinkles Cupcakes gift certificate and a dinner for two at a restaurant (we only paid $45 in the silent auction!)
It was a great end to my birthday week. The party was at the Colony Club on Park Avenue which was really cool. It’s always fun to see new and interesting places. Mallory and I decided that the room would be perfect for a wedding. 🙂
Oh, and I joined a Ragner Relay team! Cape Cod! May 9th – 10th!!! Another race added to the books. I’m excited. My first relay!
This weekend Ryan and I had a staycation and got a lot of errands done.
We hit up Costco – my favorite place, Ryan’s least favorite. I don’t know why I love Costco so much, but I do.
One thing that is difficult is getting our groceries back to our apartment… We use a cart but one time we forgot it and it was the longest, arm killing walk Ryan and I have ever had. Living in New York City is so different from living in a suburban town.
I miss driving places and not worrying if I’ll be able to carry everything I buy back home. Ryan’s good at “driving” the cart though, so that’s a plus.
After grocery shopping Ryan wanted to workout and I convinced him to try one of my Pure Barre DVDS with me. He now realizes how hard Pure Barre is and why I’m so tired when I get back from the classes. I’m pretty sure he’s still sore today.
Dinner was another amazing meal made by Ryan. He is so good at cooking, it’s crazy. He made chicken parm with egg pasta and sautéed spinach. As we ate dinner we watched the Oregon Ducks game. (they won, of course!!!)
It was the perfect low key night before my Sunday long run.
This weekend we moved all of Ryan’s stuff into our new apartment. (My stuff is this weekend) The whole weekend was spent organizing, painting, and Ryan building IKEA furniture.
By the end of building all the furniture Ryan could hardly feel his hands…
While he was building I was painting. And painting and painting. Our goal is to paint each of the main rooms.
Oh, and it was Cinco de Mayo so I used our new crock pot and made chicken burritos/tacos. Sooo good. And I didn’t burn anything and it all tasted good!
I get to run and go to Pure Barre this week which is very exciting. I can’t believe I ran Eugene a week ago! Woah.

This past weekend was a no running weekend. It was a nice break and also much needed.
I could feel my body saying – Okayyy… Can we have a little break now??
Spending the weekend in New Jersey was just what I needed. Great food, Ryan, Bailey and lots of relaxing.
On Sunday we took Bailey to a park by Ryan’s parents house and went for a little hike. I’m pretty sure she’s the most photogenic dog around…
There’s also an area with rescued animals. Bailey made lots ofnew friends, including a pig.
No running happened last night.
I was still in the relaxing mood so I watched a movie, knitted and called my parents to say hi. Our conversations always last about an hour so I didn’t turn off the light until 10:15pm… Not the best when your alarm clock goes off at 5:50am and you’re running 5 1/2 miles before 7:15am… That’s what’s coffee is for, right?
I love when you’re able to fit everything in, even if you’re a little tired.
First off Happy Valentine’s Day!
Make sure to eat some chocolate today!
I’ve already been on one date today. A running date 🙂 I met up with my friend Nicole, who is also a New York Flyer, for an early morning run in Central Park. We had a great 6.5 mile run and it flew by! We talked the whole time. I love when that happens! I also LOVE making running dates. I’ll never cancel and I always run farther with another person. It’s a win – win!
My second date is with Ryan tonight. We’re going to grab a quick dinner (I’m hoping for Chipotle) and then see Silver Linings Playbook. I love going to the movies. The popcorn is so good! And then dessert – chocolate dipped strawberries. I made them last night. I even got creative with a couple of them!
I can’t wait!
Saturday morning I was up bright and early to meet some friends of mine for a nice ten miler in Central Park. When we planned this I didn’t think it was going to be super cold. It was 20 degrees… I would have never gone by myself. I’ve come to realize that making running dates is the best way for me to get my long runs in this training cycle. When other people are counting on me there’s no way I won’t show up.
Of course after finishing it was coffee and bagel time. AND THEN NAP TIME. I had the best two hour nap. Naps after a long run are probably the best thing ever.
Once I woke up I had to start getting ready for the New York Flyers Awards Dinner. It was a formal dinner and I might have been a little under dressed… People went all out! I now know for next time.
Ryan and I weren’t planning on attending but a couple of weeks ago I received an e-mail saying I was up for an award… And guess what!?
I was one of the winners of the Rookie of the Year Award!
It was a really fun dinner and it was good to see some of my running friends that I hadn’t seen in a while.
Ryan on the other hand… I think he got his fill of running talk for the year. At least the Super Bowl was the next day 🙂
This past weekend flew by. I feel like I had something planned every minute of Saturday and Sunday. I didn’t get to run, but I did get to go to a Pure Barre class on Saturday.
Sunday Ryan and I went to the Jets game. We had so much fun tailgating and hanging out. And the Jets won which is always great!
We were able to cross two more recipes off the 26 New Recipes on the To Do list. We made deviled eggs and the awesome burgers below. They’re chicken and black bean with egg on top. They were soooo good! And healthy too.
I loved our seats. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to go up in the higher seats again. The view was just too goo here!
Ryan celebrating the WIN!
Now it’s Monday and I’m pretty exhausted. I’m pretty certain I’ll be tired the whole month of December. It’s always the busiest month filled with parties and work events… Once January comes I’ll be happy to relax and start training for the Eugene Marathon!
A couple of weeks (Halloween weekend) ago Ryan, Bailey and I went to a pumpkin patch for a day Fall festivities.
We are those people who act as though our dog is our child…
We then carved our pumpkins (Mine took almost three hours!)
Ryan did the skeleton and I did the owl
And then the next morning I baked pumpkin bread! Well, tried to… It took almost an hour more than the directions had said.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Today is my Birthday!
I’m now 26! Now that I’m closer to 30 I feel waaaay more mature. haha
Do I look older and more worldly???
So far my day has been going great! And it’s not even 12pm!
Last night I opened some presents my parents sent me.
My friend Kristen, who ran the Portland Marathon sent me this awesome card:
I woke up this morning to a beautiful card and Lululemon giftcard from my roommate. And when I got to work my friend Ashley surprised me with Crumbs cupcakes (yes, I had some of one of the cupcake for breakfast…) and a Starbucks card!
Tonight Ryan and I are going to Discovering Columbus which is an art installation in Columbus Circle and then out to dinner. I would say the day is bound to get better and better 🙂
