This past weekend flew by. I feel like I had something planned every minute of Saturday and Sunday. I didn’t get to run, but I did get to go to a Pure Barre class on Saturday.
Sunday Ryan and I went to the Jets game. We had so much fun tailgating and hanging out. And the Jets won which is always great!
We were able to cross two more recipes off the 26 New Recipes on the To Do list. We made deviled eggs and the awesome burgers below. They’re chicken and black bean with egg on top. They were soooo good! And healthy too.
I loved our seats. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to go up in the higher seats again. The view was just too goo here!
Ryan celebrating the WIN!
Now it’s Monday and I’m pretty exhausted. I’m pretty certain I’ll be tired the whole month of December. It’s always the busiest month filled with parties and work events… Once January comes I’ll be happy to relax and start training for the Eugene Marathon!
A couple of weeks (Halloween weekend) ago Ryan, Bailey and I went to a pumpkin patch for a day Fall festivities.
We are those people who act as though our dog is our child…
We then carved our pumpkins (Mine took almost three hours!)
Ryan did the skeleton and I did the owl
And then the next morning I baked pumpkin bread! Well, tried to… It took almost an hour more than the directions had said.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Today is my Birthday!
I’m now 26! Now that I’m closer to 30 I feel waaaay more mature. haha
Do I look older and more worldly???
So far my day has been going great! And it’s not even 12pm!
Last night I opened some presents my parents sent me.
My friend Kristen, who ran the Portland Marathon sent me this awesome card:
I woke up this morning to a beautiful card and Lululemon giftcard from my roommate. And when I got to work my friend Ashley surprised me with Crumbs cupcakes (yes, I had some of one of the cupcake for breakfast…) and a Starbucks card!
Tonight Ryan and I are going to Discovering Columbus which is an art installation in Columbus Circle and then out to dinner. I would say the day is bound to get better and better 🙂
So yesterday’s blog was all sad. Sorry about that… Time to change things around and get excited for the marathon!
Here are some things that make me happy/grateful for:
Let’s get excited!!!
This guy keeps me sane and normal.
These two always support me, no matter what.
This one makes me crazy… but I love her
This one is the cutest ever. And her licks always brighten my day.
Pretty fall photo from last weekend.
I’m going to go to the Marathon Expo tomorrow after work!!! I’m getting more and more excited and nervous. I can’t wait to cross the finish line!!!
My weekend was full of fun! Friday night Ryan and I went to a theme party! The theme was The Great Gatsby. We didn’t know how dressed up people got so we played it safe. Well… we were with the small group of people who didn’t dress up like crazy!
The photo below – from when I was a flapper for Halloween is what most of the attendees were looked like. Minus the leggings… It was a great time and I can’t wait to go to more of these types of events!
Saturday was a lazy day with an early bedtime. I had to get ready for the Staten Island half! I had no idea so many people were going to be running it! The weather was perfect – 50 degrees at the start and the rain held off!
I ran this race as a training run since I was sick and hadn’t gotten a long run in for two weeks. I hardly looked at my Garmin while running and just ran on how I felt. The last three miles I kicked it into gear and actually beat my half marathon pr time! I ran this half in 1:41:31. A 23 second PR! And I didn’t really push it until mile 10 – I still can’t believe it!
One thing I loved about the race was the transportation to the start. To get there we had to take the Staten Island Ferry. The views were so pretty of the City!
I couldn’t help myself – I had to take a picture of this guy… We all got a bagel after the race. He is just saving his for later I guess.
Hope you all had a great weekend!
I left my camera at my parent’s house in Oregon so… Here is my and Ryan’s vacation thru the camera on my phone!
Waiting for our flight to leave
View from Pike Place Market
Clam chowder lunch at Pike Place Market
Top Pot Doughnuts!! We went three times…
Old Fashioned with chocolate frosting
Spur of the moment football game – Go Seahawks!
Driving to the Dave Matthews Band concert at the Gorge!
We made it!!!
Pretty view of Seattle
Awesome “spiked” peach lemonade drink
Mariners baseball game!
After the baseball game we made the 3 1/2 hour trip to Portland so I could make my friend Abby’s wedding reception! So pretty!
Those photos only go to Sunday – and we were in Oregon until Thursday! Can you tell we packed lots and lots into our trip!? I can’t wait to go back – only three more months!
I’ve been up since 6:30am… I wish I could say it was because I went for a run this morning. But no, I had to take Lexi to The Cat Practice, where I’m boarding her. I like to call it “Kitty Summer Camp”… I’m really nervous – I’ve never boarded her before and she hasn’t been around other cats since I adopted her at 8 weeks! I hope she does okay and doesn’t hate me when I get back from vacation!
Vacation time is almost here! Ryan and I just have to get through today and then we’re off to the West Coast at 7am! We’re going to be in Seattle for a couple of days and then my parents are going to come up and pick us up (from the Mariners game) and we’ll all head to Oregon. I cannot wait for this trip!!! We have been planning it forever! Ryan has never been to Seattle so there will be lots of sight seeing and we’re going to the Dave Matthews concert at the Gorge!
How awesome does this look!? AMAZING! We’ll be there Friday! I also can’t wait for my annual pool party at my parent’s house, wine tasting with my family! And my friend Abby’s wedding! (We have a lot planned… It’s going to be a VERY BUSY TRIP!)
