Yesterday was the BEST TUESDAY EVER.
First off. I have an awesome boss. I told him a friend of mine was coming into town for only one day and the only time I could see her was from 12pm – 5pm. HE LET ME TAKE A HALF DAY. Amazing.
So from 12pm – 5pm I got to hung out with Janae and she brought along another cool blogger – Anne. I get to hangout with Anne and some other bloggers when their back in town for the marathon.
The three of us had an amazing time doing fun touristy stuff. I took them to FAO Schwartz, Dylan’s Candy Bar and we then just walked from the Upper East Side into Central Park and rounded out the tour at their hotel. We had a blast just talking and hanging out.
I had to take Janae and Anne to Pick-A-Bagel. My “old stomping grounds” . They have the BEST bagels. Trust me and go there.
I’m telling you, the running blogging community is pretty cool. Everyone I’ve met is so nice! I’m pretty sure it’s because everyone is healthy and happy on endorphins from running.
Janae and I decided that I need to come and visit her in Utah. This is going to happen. I love Janae and everyone says Utah is beautiful. So I need to visit!

This week. I am so happy it’s almost over. Work has been crazy and way too stressful. All of this craziness will end when the Olympics end. So that’s on August 12th… Just nine more days. THANK GOD.
I do want to stay positive though so here are so things that have brightened my week:
1) Tuesday night I went out to dinner with the girls I lived with in college. It was great to see them and catch up on their lives.
2) Wednesday night Ryan came over and we made the best dinner. Pork chops, sweet potatoes and brussel sprouts.
3) After an extremely long and stressful Thursday I made myself go run outside. I ran on the Bridle Path in Central Park and my bad mood just slipped away.
4) I also picked up my race bib yesterday for the Team Championship race on Saturday. I’m excited/nervous! Oh and there’s a huge bagel breakfast afterwards! YES!
5) I was nominated by Elisha over at jumpeatrun for the Beautiful Blogger Award!!! Thank you so much!!!
So, even though my work week totally sucked. My after-work life didn’t. If that makes sense 🙂 I always try to stay positive and look for the good. If people didn’t they would be pretty miserable all the time, right?!

Last night Ryan and I had a date night. I had planned ahead and got up early and ran in the morning. I usually need a lot of motivation to work out in the morning. And even if I set three alarms, I usually never make it to the gym. So yesterday morning was a BIG step. I actually got out of bed and went to the gym!
We decided to go to Stand 4 for dinner. It’s a burger and milkshake type of restaurant and I had heard great things. Mostly about the Marshmallow Milkshake…
This bad boy was to die for. There are actual marshmallow pieces in there. Trust me and just go there. Even if you don’t eat dinner. Get a milkshake. They even have boozy ones.

Tonight I’m running 6 miles outside! The weather is perfect here and I cannot wait to get outside.
I’m hoping this no humidity stays because on Saturday the New York Flyers (myself included) are pacing the New York Road Runners Official Long Run for the New York City Marathon! I’ll be pacing one of the 8:30 min groups and we’ll be running 11 miles. I’m pretty excited about pacing a group. I’ve never done it before so I’ll be fun to learn something new and meet new people.
The only downside – I have to be at the meeting spot in Central Park at 6:30am. On Saturday… A nap will definitely happen.
Atlantic City…. I think I’m too old for that place. Or at least where we stayed? and the club we went to? I’m not sure.
I loved seeing all my friends and the dinner we went to beforehand was awesome! Great little reunion. And we were able to celebrate our friend’s recent engagement 🙂
Oh, and I did get my nine miles in. I woke up nice and early on Saturday, 6:25am, to be exact, and hit the park. I had a great run and I didn’t feel tired or sore afterwards. Sleeping on the bus to AC probably helped too.
This week’s training… hmmm… I ran 3 miles on Tuesday… My goal for tonight is to run 5 or more miles, 3 miles on Friday and then I’m running the Boomer’s Run to Breathe race (6.2 miles) on Saturday.
Oh, and then right after the race I have to head straight to Penn Station and go to New Jersey. Ryan and I are going to the beach. Remember that Summer Goals List I made??? yeah… Not doing so great on that list.
I’m tired looking at my week/weekend….
This weekend I cooked. I cooked things that I’ve never made before. Which is kind of a big deal… I’m pretty bad at cooking, baking… it’s the whole measuring out the correct amounts that gets me every time… But this weekend I had two successes!
Recipe found on Pinterest. It’s provolone, goat cheese, spinach and avocado. It is amazing.
Bailey and I made breakfast for Ryan for Father’s Day.
I made blueberry pancakes with blueberry sauce on top and scrambled eggs. Ryan said he was surprised at how good the food was. That’s his surprised face…
Saturday night I watched Spirit of the Marathon. It was so good!! At times I even teared up a little bit… (total dork, I know)
Then on Sunday I headed to Central Park to work on getting rid of my paleness… and my back got burnt. Like tomato red…
I also got in a three mile run in which I’m proud of. It was very difficult to go out there and run when all I wanted to do was sit around and watch tv.
It was a busy weekend – fun, relaxing, errands – all rolled into two days. If only we had one more day…
This week is packed too. This summer is going to fly by!
Last week’s training went so well! I ran a total of 21.24 miles! My ten mile run on Saturday felt awesome and when I got home I couldn’t believe that ten miles could feel that good and kind of easy. Does that make sense?
The weather has been wonderful here and I’ve been loving running in Central Park. let’s just hope the humidity doesn’t make an appearance this summer. NOW THAT would be a miracle!
This coming weekend Ryan and I are going to Cold Spring so I probably won’t be able to get as many miles in as last week. I have signed up for spin class tomorrow morning (6am! yikes!) and I hope to get in at least three runs. (fingers crossed!)
Side Note: I still have A LOT Easter candy and I don’t know what to do with it besides eat it! I might turn into a chocolate Easter egg!
Sometimes life gets in the way of things you want/need to do. Like write posts for your blog… I guess after I had my little vacation from running I then took a vacation from the blogging world. While I wasn’t blogging I was having a lot of fun 🙂
Ryan’s Birthday was last week so we had a busy week! On his birthday we went to the Devils Game! Hockey is way better live.
It also helps when your team wins!
And what makes the night even better is a chocolate peanut butter cupcake.
And then Friday night. Was the BIG Birthday blow out! There were four birthdays that were celebrated!

There was only one play a group of 20 could let loose and have some fun. KUMO Sushi!!! Ryan and I love this place. We go here all the time and I always bring my out of town friends here!
We all had tons of fun and I’m pretty sure all of the birthday boys enjoyed their party!
This weekend Ryan and I are going to New Jersey to celebrate Easter with his family. There will be tons of homemade Polish food! I cannot wait!
Let’s talk about running:
This week I’ve been kicking butt! The weather has been perfect so I’ve been out running in Central Park. Monday I ran 3.25 miles, Tuesday, 5.60, and last night 5 miles. My legs are a little sore today but I’m loving it.
Oh, and Ryan and I saw The Hunger Games… I was kind of disappointed…
