Cupcakes

My vacation began yesterday after work. 5:01pm!!! It was time to relax and enjoy! What better way to do that then by enjoying a cupcake, of course!

Ashley (also running Red Rock) and I went to Sprinkles. She got red velvet and I got pumpkin. THEY WERE AMAZINGGGG!!

Here I am… 6am ready for my trip! After trying to take a picture of myself several times I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m horrible at it. I hate this picture but I tried multiple times so it’s going up.

I’m not taking my computer with me so you’ll all get the full trip details once I get back! I hope you all have a great week!

Best ever

One of the best Valentine’s Days everrrr!!!!

Ryan got me some of my favorite things!!!! Pirate’s Booty, coffee and chocolate!

We then went to our ALL TIME FAVORITE asian noodle place – Tasty Noodles, in China Town. It’s amazing and I want more noodles right now.

To get to the subway you have to pass the courthouse – Mom – this is where they film Law and Order. I thought you’d appreciate this čÖé

And then it was ice cream time…. So good!!!

One bad thing though… There’s a cupcake shop right next door…

So we had to try some cupcakes too…

Way too much sugar yesterday! Woah. I hope you all had a great ┬áValentine’s Day!

Back on the treadmill tonight. Just a nice three mile run. And I may go to Total Body Conditioning… Not sure….

Birthday Weekend

My birthday weekend was awesome!

The Runners World Event was so cool! Bart Yasso, Amby Burfoot, Dean Karnazes, Mary Wittenberg and many more famous runners were there! I was in heaven! Oh, and the food was amazing. One word – SUSHI.

Then it was Saturday. Blogger meet-up at 16 Handles! It was so much fun and Janae was super cute and nice! I think I convinced her to run the Red Rock half with me čÖé

After spending hours talking about running, life and food it was time for my birthday dinner with Ryan. We went to┬áMotorino for pizza. It’s my all time favorite! So good. We ordered the spicy pepperoni pizza and the special for the night, pizza with┬áprosciutto. Both were amazing.

Even though we were super full, we (just me) had to get ice cream. We went to Big Gay Ice Cream Shop. They make the best, most unique cones ever. Vanilla ice cream with dulce de leche, dipped in chocolate with bits of pretzel. Yes please.

Oh, and then this happened. When we got back to Ryan’s apartment all my friends were there! Ryan had thrown me a surprise birthday party!!! It was so fun and I had no idea!

And the Best Boyfriend Award goes to…

And then it was Sunday, Marathon day and my birthday! We woke up and headed to First Avenue. Around mile 17. It was so much fun to be in the crowd cheering. There was even a TV set up to watch the finish line!

I tried looking for HungryRunnerGirl and SkinnyRunner but never saw them running…

I cannot wait to run New York next year!

But I did get to celebrate with them on their awesome accomplishment at Crumbs after the race!!! Both are so nice and funny!

And then. This morning. I came into work and saw this:

Meb signed a copy of our magazine for me!!!!!!! I never got to meet him but now I have a signed copy from him!!!! That was the best way to end my birthday weekend. Hands down.

18 in Central Park

Saturday I ran 18 miles. It was really hard. I would say the last four miles were the most difficult. I just wanted to be done and I was getting pretty hungry. The GU Chomps really gave me the energy boosts I needed all throughout my run.

It took me 2 hours and 57 minutes to run 18 miles. With that training run under my belt I’m thinking I’ll finish the marathon in 4 hours and 30 minutes. Give or take. I’ll be really happy with that.┬á

I ran the miles in Central Park. I started a little late, 9:30am, and by the time I was done it was pretty hot outside. I did get some much-needed sun so I don’t look as see-through anymore.

After finishing I walked/hobbled back to my apartment. People on the street were looking at me like I had two heads… Yes, I’m sweaty. I just ran 18 miles okay!? For next time I might make a tee-shirt that says, “I just ran __ Miles so stop looking at me.” I can put velcro in the blank spot and just stick the amount of miles I ran on the shirt… What do you think of that idea?? Maybe that’ll make people stop looking at me like I’m crazy. Or am I crazy for running 18 miles???

Once I got home I took a cold water bath – I don’t have enough ice for an ice bath, but really cold water works for me.

After freezing my legs in the cold, cold water and taking a much-needed shower and nap.

I decided I had to celebrate this 18 mile achievement so I took myself out for a walk (a very slow walk) and bought a beautiful, much deserved cupcake.

And then I slept for about ten hours and woke up to lots and lots of rain Sunday morning. I did go to yoga Sunday morning – great cross training. It felt great to stretch and do some other type of exercise besides run. I’m definitely going to go back.

I did other errand stuff on Sunday, but that’ll just bore you.┬á

Las Vegas Pictures… Finally up!

Here are some of the photos from Ryan’s Birthday Extravaganza in Las Vegas. We all had such a great time! I can’t wait to go back!!

We stayed at the Aria and it was wonderful! Here is Ryan and Marc’s favorite place in our hotel. The Sport’s Book. A lot of betting happened here…

Afternoon drinks and the butterfly garden in the Bellagio.

Ryan loves The Price is Right so I got us tickets to the Vegas show! We didn’t get picked… I was really sad about that.

The Venetian is one of my all time favorite hotels. I love the canal shops!

The Birthday Celebration continues!

Us girls being “candid” before going out and Ryan walking back to our hotel after a successful night at TAO.

Birthday dinner at Battista’s Hole in the Wall Restaurant. Real Italian food. LARGE portions.

Last day in Vegas… Birthday cupcake for the Birthday boy!

I make a mess in the hotel lobby… The cupcake was soooo good. Chocolate peanut butter cupcakes are amazing.

I Climbed to the Top!

Oh my gosh today was such a great day!!!

Ryan and I woke up nice and early, 5:50am, so Ms. Time Bomb, (ME) would be at the race on time. Our wave up the stairs was at 7:30am so my packet said to be at Rockefeller Center at 7am.

Here you can see that I was getting very nervous when the subway train wasn’t coming… I didn’t want to miss the race!!!

The train finally came, notice my happy face and we were right on time and were able to hangout, I ate a snack and stretched until my other team members arrived.

I was really nervous when we lined up and about to start up the 66 flights of stairs. We were allowed in the stairwell one at a time, so our bib timers would activate.

I was the first one out of my group of friends and just went for it. I never stopped and never looked back. At the first rest stop I grabbed a water bottle from one of the volunteers and kept climbing. My goal was to never stop.

MISSION COMPLETED!

I would have to say that the air in the stairwells were what made the climb more difficult. I guess you could say the air was dry? I don’t really know, but I did get a side ach half way through that stayed with me until I finished the race.

I finished in 15 minutes and 12 seconds!!!! I still can’t believe it!!! Ryan and our friend Marc said that when they saw me come out at the finish they were so surprised and had to do a double take. They couldn’t believe that I was already done! That’s why they didn’t get a picture of me at the finish line… sad. But they did snap some awesome photos when I ran up to them! I love my face!

View from the top!

I work over there. Off to the left, my building is hidden.

Team photo!

Hooray! We did it!!!

Me and Ryan. He was great.

He carried all my stuff in a backpack and when I finished the race he was there with a Vitamin water in hand!┬áHe wins my #1 Fan Award! And so do my parents! They live in Oregon, it’s three hours earlier there, ┬ámy Dad said he woke up at 4:45am their time and sent good thoughts my way in New York. Love them!!!

Ryan also bought me a cupcake from Magnolia Bakery! IT WAS SO GOOD! Freshly baked!

And again, thank you to everyone who donated money!!! You wall be receiving a little something in the mail very soon čÖé

Ohhhh… and later on we went to a Boston Terrier Meetup! 60 Boston Terriers in one room. Fun and chaos ensued. Bailey the puppy had a wonderful time!

I’m so tired and I can’t believe the weekend is over! It went by so fast but was so great!!!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend too!

Chocolates, Cookies and Cupcakes!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day filled with chocolates, cookies, and cupcakes!

No running for me tonight, it’s a cross-training night. Which is good because my legs are a little tired from running three days in a row. Tonight I’ll be doing yoga. I’m excited since I haven’t done yoga in a very long time. It’s a great workout and it really helps me relax.
