That pint lasted two days

I made it to the gym last night! 3.36 miles, 2 miles with a 1.0% incline – 30 mins total.

The last thing I wanted to do last night was go to gym. My brain and stomach were yelling – STUFF YOUR FACE!!!   Sushi!!!    Ice Cream!!!

But I somehow ignored all of that and went. And it was awesome! When I first walked in I saw my friend and there was a treadmill open right next to her! Perfect. She was finishing up her workout, but for my first mile it was great to relax and talk.

After my workout (abs included!) I made a HUGE bowl of pasta with red peppers, onion, and diced up tomato. Oh, and tons of cheese (Dad you’d be proud!). It was just what I needed. Oh. And I needed this too… while watching The Closer…

That pint lasted two days… Man oh man I love that ice cream. Good thing I have one more waiting in the fridge for me! muhaha

Tonight’s plan – Hit the gym. AND then treat myself to sushi. I just have to. I’ve wanted all week. (get it??? all week??? It’s been two days.. Bad joke?)

Oh, and I caved in last night and signed up for the 2012 NYC Half lottery… If I get in I will be running two half-marathons in two weeks… Who do I think I am!?? This girl???  She’s having a giveaway by the way – so if you like pretty jewelry enter!

Who else signed up for the NYC Half lottery??? If I get in my legs are going to me sooo mad at me!

Anyone else watch The Closer??? I’m pretty much obsessed…

Birthday Weekend

My birthday weekend was awesome!

The Runners World Event was so cool! Bart Yasso, Amby Burfoot, Dean Karnazes, Mary Wittenberg and many more famous runners were there! I was in heaven! Oh, and the food was amazing. One word – SUSHI.

Then it was Saturday. Blogger meet-up at 16 Handles! It was so much fun and Janae was super cute and nice! I think I convinced her to run the Red Rock half with me 🙂

After spending hours talking about running, life and food it was time for my birthday dinner with Ryan. We went to Motorino for pizza. It’s my all time favorite! So good. We ordered the spicy pepperoni pizza and the special for the night, pizza with prosciutto. Both were amazing.

Even though we were super full, we (just me) had to get ice cream. We went to Big Gay Ice Cream Shop. They make the best, most unique cones ever. Vanilla ice cream with dulce de leche, dipped in chocolate with bits of pretzel. Yes please.

Oh, and then this happened. When we got back to Ryan’s apartment all my friends were there! Ryan had thrown me a surprise birthday party!!! It was so fun and I had no idea!

And the Best Boyfriend Award goes to…

And then it was Sunday, Marathon day and my birthday! We woke up and headed to First Avenue. Around mile 17. It was so much fun to be in the crowd cheering. There was even a TV set up to watch the finish line!

I tried looking for HungryRunnerGirl and SkinnyRunner but never saw them running…

I cannot wait to run New York next year!

But I did get to celebrate with them on their awesome accomplishment at Crumbs after the race!!! Both are so nice and funny!

And then. This morning. I came into work and saw this:

Meb signed a copy of our magazine for me!!!!!!! I never got to meet him but now I have a signed copy from him!!!! That was the best way to end my birthday weekend. Hands down.

Oregon Vacation – Pool Party

One of my favorite days while visiting Oregon was the pool party I had at my house! My friends and I had so much fun and I’m pretty sure my parents did too!

Pizza at a Fourth of July party… Why not?!

A little competitive Beer Pong action happened… My team came in second.

We also had a dancing segment in the competition… No big deal. Has anyone else heard of Double Dream Hands??? If not go to YouTube right now. You’re welcome.

This trip to Oregon really made me realize what wonderful parents and friends I have!!! I miss then terribly!!! October can’t come soon enough!

(Chloe and Sarah – You better keep training!!! I want to see you finish the Portland Half-Marathon!!)

One week from today I will be home in OREGON!!!! YES! I can’t wait!!!

Today it’s really gross and humid out. I’m suppose to run 7 miles…. Do I suffer from boredom on the treadmill??? Or, suffer in the humidity outside? Decisions, decisions…

In electronics news: My lap top decided to stop working yesterday. That was fun. So that’ll be something to add to the list of things to do when I’m home. Hopefully it can be fixed and I don’t have to buy a new one (Mom and Dad…). For some reason I have really bad luck with electronics. This is my third lap top, I’ve had tons of cells phones, three i-pods… the list goes on and on.

I hope you enjoy the delights I have for you below… Can you tell I need a  vacation???

I hope I got a laugh or two out of you… I was laughing pretty hard! Have a wonderful Thursday 🙂

I Think We’re Too Old For This Stuff…

Atlantic City was so much fun!!! But I’m really feeling our late night today… Going to bed at 5am is not something my body can do. College is long gone and this past weekend I realized this. Also, a lot of people we met were 21… When they would ask how old I was (24) they would be like, WOAH. You don’t look that old…  Thank you for making me feel old!!

PS – My friend Jackie won $3,000 on a slot machine while we were there too!!! It was so funny because she sat down just to waste time before dinner and for a photo-op! We were so excited!

I did run with my Jackie Saturday morning before we left for Atlantic City! Aren’t you proud!? I ran in my new shoes and loved them!!! We ran 3.64 miles around her neighborhood. I really do love suburban life 🙂

I’m definitely NOT running today. Must rest. Tomorrow a bunch of my friends and I are running in the AHA Wall Street 3 mile run. It’s suppose to rain… of course! But I’m crossing my fingers the weather people are wrong!

Las Vegas Pictures… Finally up!

Here are some of the photos from Ryan’s Birthday Extravaganza in Las Vegas. We all had such a great time! I can’t wait to go back!!

We stayed at the Aria and it was wonderful! Here is Ryan and Marc’s favorite place in our hotel. The Sport’s Book. A lot of betting happened here…

Afternoon drinks and the butterfly garden in the Bellagio.

Ryan loves The Price is Right so I got us tickets to the Vegas show! We didn’t get picked… I was really sad about that.

The Venetian is one of my all time favorite hotels. I love the canal shops!

The Birthday Celebration continues!

Us girls being “candid” before going out and Ryan walking back to our hotel after a successful night at TAO.

Birthday dinner at Battista’s Hole in the Wall Restaurant. Real Italian food. LARGE portions.

Last day in Vegas… Birthday cupcake for the Birthday boy!

I make a mess in the hotel lobby… The cupcake was soooo good. Chocolate peanut butter cupcakes are amazing.

Do I Look Stronger????

What do you think??? Do I look stronger??? I hit the weights pretty hard tonight at the gym…  My arms are probably going to be sore tomorrow, but that’s good! AND tomorrow is my rest day, so it’s fine 🙂

So really… don’t you think I look super tough?? I think so…

Oh, and my 2 miler was a breeze. I even ran the second mile on a 1% incline to get ready for the hills that will most likely be in any race that I run.

PS again – The reason why my photos aren’t that great is because my camera is broken… I’m taking the pictures from the camera on my mac computer….  sad, I know
