Last night I worked out with Jillian Michael’s. It was a good time. She kicked my butt again. But I was able to do some of the exercises better than a couple of weeks ago. Which is really exciting! It’s always good to see progress. Even though the DVD is super difficult, I’m always left feeling great and motivated. Another plus – Since incorporating this DVD into my training and doing more strength training at the gym my left glute muscle hasn’t hurt at all!!!
Tonight, if the rain stays away, I’m going to run outside. I’m really not in the mood for the treadmill… The gym in my apartment building is small and the people watching isn’t that great… Running outside is so much better! Lets all cross our fingers that it’s not raining between the hours of 5pm – 6pm Eastern Time… Thanks!

Last night I did strength training. (My Dad is the only person that voted… Thanks Dad!) I didn’t do the DVD I just went to the gym and incorporated some of Jillian Michaels moves and did some of the weight machines. I felt good and it was relaxing. I did a bunch of exercises that target my glutes. In no time my little left glute muscle won’t be hurting and I’ll be kicking but on my 20 milers!
Today after work I’m running with a friend from work. Our plan is to run three miles. It’s finally nice and sunny today so I’m excited to run outside. One problem though. I’m super tired. I didn’t go to bed last night until 12:30AM. That’s really late for me. Yes, I’m a grandma…
So in order to keep my energy levels up I’ve already drank a grande iced skim vanilla latte and on my lunch break I went out and bought… Yes, you guessed it! Swedish Fish. Coffee and sugar. I can’t go wrong. I did eat a healthy lunch, so don’t worry (I’m thinking Kristen my Running Buddy, would have something to say about this…)!

So remember how I said it hadn’t rained all day and I was upset that I didn’t bring my running gear to work??? Well, right when I got home it started pouring. Thunder and lightening even made an appearance!
So I made my way to the gym and jumped on the treadmill and just watched the rain and listened to my Ipod as I ran. It was nice and relaxing. Besides me being all sweaty and gross… They really should work on the air conditioning in the gym…
After my run I made a delicious dinner! I had a turkey burger and a baked potato. I’d forgotten how good baked potatoes are. Even though I did have to call my Mom and ask about the baking time and oven temp for the potato, everything turned really tasty! Thanks Mom!!!
I ran a good five miles and then did some strength training so my left glute muscle that hurt during the half-marathon doesn’t act up again and gets nice and strong.
I’m not sure what I’m in the mood for tonight… Running or the Jillian Michael’s DVD… What do you think???

The other night I had my date with my Jillian Michael’s Ripped in 30 DVD.
Yes. The DVD is that difficult. Sweaty mess proves it.
Once again she kicked my butt and I don’t know if it’ll ever get easier. I wasn’t as sore the next day like the first time I did the video which is good! I was able to run three miles the next day without a problem or sore legs.
Oh, I also got a new phone last weekend since my blackberry kept deciding not to have internet access or tell me when people called… Now I can take pictures on my phone! This means more photos for my blog! YESSS!! And Ryan won’t be getting bugged to take pictures for me on his phone. Everyone is a winner!

Tonight Ryan and I are going out to dinner with some friends and then Saturday I’m planning on cleaning my apartment and tackling my huge pile of laundry. So much fun, right?
And to round out my weekend, Sunday morning is the 10K Scotland Run! I’m excited for the race, it’s in Central Park, but I’m not too excited about the hills I’ve heard the race has…

I couldn’t help myself…
Soooo I’m already getting ready for my next race. It’s this Sunday. If you’ve forgotten or haven’t looked at my RACES page I’m running the Scotland 10K race in Central Park.
One of the trainers from my work is running it too and he’s going to pace me. Since the course is super hilly our goal pace is 9 minute miles.
I’m excited but the weather forecast does not look pleasant. RAIN. I guess the Coogan’s 5K with the wind, rain and cold was good training!
Tonight: I ran three miles and then did some strength training. I can’t have my little left glute muscle hurting again. It’s just no fun at all.
Tomorrow I’m thinking I’ll do the Jillian Michael’s Ripped in 30 DVD. She’ll kick my butt and help with my strength training.

Tonight was a cross-training night for me.
Knowing that I needed to amp up my cross-training since I haven’t been doing that great of a job at it I went to Barnes and Noble this past weekend and browsed the Fitness DVD Section. I came across Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 DVD. It looked tough and I’ve heard her workout videos are really good.
Tonight I tried it out and let me tell you. Jillian knows what’s up. The 24 minute workout I just did kicked my butt! I’m all gross, sweaty and my arms are sore. No wonder she’s on the Biggest Loser!
If anyone is nervous that swimsuit season is fast approaching go out and buy this DVD. There’s four different workouts so you won’t get bored. Four workouts for four weeks.
She’ll kick your butt, I’m telling you! Go out and buy it! I’m so impressed!
Tomorrow: Ryan’s coming over to visit me in Yonkers and I have a 5 mile run on the treadmill to do and lots of stretching 🙂
