This weekend we moved all of Ryan’s stuff into our new apartment. (My stuff is this weekend) The whole weekend was spent organizing, painting, and Ryan building IKEA furniture.
By the end of building all the furniture Ryan could hardly feel his hands…
While he was building I was painting. And painting and painting. Our goal is to paint each of the main rooms.
Oh, and it was Cinco de Mayo so I used our new crock pot and made chicken burritos/tacos. Sooo good. And I didn’t burn anything and it all tasted good!
I get to run and go to Pure Barre this week which is very exciting. I can’t believe I ran Eugene a week ago! Woah.

Lots has happened since my last post.
First off. I’m not sick anymore! Woohoo!
Second. We found an apartment! AND we’re not paying a brokers fee! Yesss. Not paying a brokers fee saves us about $5,000. Yes, New York is insane. Yes, that $5,000 is to RENT an apartment, not buy… We move the beginning of May!
Third. I’m still planning on running the Eugene Marathon. I’m not going to bump down to the half. Even though it would make my life a lot easier. Who want’s easy, though right?! I cannot wait to go to Oregon!
Lastly, it’s finally spring in New York! This week has had perfect running weather. I knocked out 12 miles on Sunday and then eight on Monday. Pure Barre tonight and an early morning run tomorrow morning.
It’s been a crazy couple of weeks. Searching for an apartment in Manhattan, finding one, applying for it, being approved, packing and moving… Oh, and then going on a little weekend getaway. Needless to say, I’ve been so busy and running did not take precedent.
The past two weeks I only ran eight miles. TOTAL. But I’m okay with it because I now have a fantastic place to live with a great roommate and I enjoyed a wonderful “mini” vacation!
With the Portland Marathon just two months away I need to really amp up my mileage and make running my #1 priority.
So. New month means I’m starting fresh and I’m going to really train! Monday night I joined New York Sports Club and ran a great six miles on the treadmill. The gym is four floors and really nice. The other plus. It’s around the corner from my apartment!
Tonight, Friday and Sunday are my running days. Sunday I’m hoping to do 14 miles…
Here are some pictures from our trip to Cold Spring, New York. The best little village in america 🙂
Ryan playing with his new camera!
We went on a five hour hike. Really fun! But I was super tired afterwards.

I’m all moved!!!
Yesterday was a loonnngg day but I’m so happy in my new place! I just love the apartment and the neighborhood! (Lexi the cat likes our new place too)
There were so many boxes! The move made me realize that I really need to get rid of some stuff… I need to donate a lot of stuff to Goodwill.
This is what our living room looked like after the movers left… I was a little overwhelmed to say the least!
Tonight Ryan and I are off to Cold Spring, New York. This will be a fun weekend of hiking, kayaking, good food, and playing with Ryan’s new camera!
Next week – RUNNING!!! and lots of it!

Here’s my apartment building from the street! The red arrow is pointing to my bedroom window 🙂
All very exciting stuff!
Countdown to move in: 2 days!
Let’s all cross our fingers I have time to run tonight – More packing and painting are also on the list for tonight.
This was my worst training week yet.
BUT. I found a new apartment with my friend Danielle AND I’m moving this Thursday! Yes, July 28th!!! I still can’t believe it! I’m moving from Yonkers to the Upper East Side and I couldn’t be happier. Except for the fact that I have four days to pack… I packed all this weekend and I feel like I still have so much to do!
Marathon training was on the back burner this past week and I’m scared it will be again this week… I did managed to make time yesterday and get a good solid six-mile run in. I was super happy to be back in the gym and it felt great to run. I kind of missed it. Running is such a great stress reliever.
I don’t know what will happen this week with my training (or my life for that matter!) but I’m going to really try to get some miles in. I know I’m not Wonder Woman, but I can try to do everything right???
