By 6:15am I had run 4 miles. It was super hard to get myself out of bed but I knew if I didn’t run this morning I wouldn’t run at all. (That’s what happened yesterday) With that in my mind I got out of bed, threw my running stuff on and hit the gym.
Watching the news really helps to pass the time in the morning and I get to catch up on what’s going on in the world… well, sort of… Basically they repeat weather, traffic and the leading news headline over and over but at least I got some important information! Like, today is Les Paul’s birthday. He would be 96 today. There’s your fun fact for today.
It was super hot in the gym – it’s suppose to get up to 97 today… Yes, with humidity… my fav.
On Saturday I’m running in the NYRR New York Mini 10K. This year’s race is honoring Grete Waitz. There will be many Elite/World famous runners at this race which makes me excited and nervous. I already have my outfit picked out and ready 🙂
Enjoy your Thursday!
This is the fastest I’ve ever run in my life.
3 miles. 22 minutes = 7:20 pace!!!! Whaatttttt!??! I was 11th in my age group 🙂
ME! The girl who hated running ONE MILE! Someone pinch me!
The race wasn’t as organized as other NYRR races but we still had a blast. The rain held off and the five us (out of the seven who signed up) ran our butts off!
One of my friends took some pictures of us pre and post race so I’ll post them once I get them. Above is the only picture I took. I wanted to capture the chaos before the race began.
Ryan made me a wonderful post race dinner of tortellini and homemade garlic bread. It was delicious!
I’m exhausted from the past weekend, work, and the race… I’m probably not going to run tonight…
Work has been so busy today! So this is going to be short –
Tonight I’ll be running in the AHA Wall Street 3 Mile Run with some friends! It’s not raining right now and I really hope it doesn’t start up! Because I know if one raindrop hits the ground they’ll cancel on me!!
Here’s the race route 🙂
I was photographed again at the Japan Run for Hope Race! Yesss!!!
Please Notice: NO sunglasses. For those of you don’t seem to care for their size… (RYAN SMITH) I left them in my bag. Please also take note that yes, those are my legs, I am not wearing white tights.
The finish line… hmmm… What to say… This is where I really felt those three beers I drank the night before. Not good, not good… At least I PR’d!!!
On tonight’s agenda: Run in Central Park 🙂
Where to begin?! This weekend was full of fun and sun. Summer is finally here!
Friday night after work we took Bailey to the dog park where she met lots of friends. (There was even another Boston Terrier!)
We then went out to dinner. Guess what we had? SUSHI. That was the third time I had eaten sushi that week… And I could eat it today! I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of it!
Saturday was a nice and relaxing day. Ryan and I did a 2 mile run by the water and then just relaxed until dinner time. We decided to go somewhere new and different. We chose to go to an Indian restaurant that Ryan’s roommate loves. And we got him to come with us which wasn’t difficult at all and was great because he knew what to order! It was so good!
By then it was too late for me to travel back to Yonkers so I just stayed over in the city. The last thing I wanted to do was get back to Yonkers at around 9:30pm go to sleep and take the 6:30am train back into the city for my race.
The RACE: Japan Day Run for Hope
Really fun! NYRR Races are always organized well and everyone was super nice and friendly. They even had a raffle for a trip to Japan! I wanted to win so bad!!! The weather was perfect and I PR’d. I beat my old 4 mile race time by 7 seconds. 30:45. (I didn’t run with music) I know I could have run a faster race. I didn’t plan the night before very well… I had three beers Saturday night and did not feel so hot at 8 in the morning on Sunday. But I surprised myself and did well.
After the race I finally headed home to Yonkers to grocery shop and sleep. I was so tired! But I wasn’t too tired to make this little beauty of a pizza.
Bailey and my cat Lexi (really need to put pictures of her up here!) even got me a Mother’s Day card! Thanks Ryan 🙂

I know I’ve told a few of you…
A while ago I joined the New York Road Runners. And with joining I decided to do their 9 + 1 for the 2012 New York City Marathon.
What this means is that I need to run 9 NYRR races and volunteer for one and I’m guaranteed entry to the 2012 NYC Marathon. This is why I’ve been running all of these races! And it’s fun too! Though the two half-marathons don’t count towards my nine races I don’t mind because they were fun and great training.
I’m really excited because as of today I have my nine races planned out, some I’ve already run and I’ve already volunteered at a race. I think it’ll be cool to have run a marathon on both the West Coast and the East Coast. Both places that I call home 🙂
