Here are three things that made my Wednesday great!
Receiving flowers from one of the members at work for helping her with an event.
Running 5 miles in Central Park was easy today. (No rain!!!) And I rocked my 13.1 New York Half tee!
Sushi for dinner while watching Bethenny Ever After.
I hope you had a great Wednesday too!!!
Last night I worked out with Jillian Michael’s. It was a good time. She kicked my butt again. But I was able to do some of the exercises better than a couple of weeks ago. Which is really exciting! It’s always good to see progress. Even though the DVD is super difficult, I’m always left feeling great and motivated. Another plus – Since incorporating this DVD into my training and doing more strength training at the gym my left glute muscle hasn’t hurt at all!!!
Tonight, if the rain stays away, I’m going to run outside. I’m really not in the mood for the treadmill… The gym in my apartment building is small and the people watching isn’t that great… Running outside is so much better! Lets all cross our fingers that it’s not raining between the hours of 5pm – 6pm Eastern Time… Thanks!
Sunday I have a four mile race in Central Park. Its to raise money for Japan Relief. Want more information? Click here!
Oh Hello…. This is me and my friend Ashley before the NYRR 4 Mile race. Don’t we look lovely? Did you know it was pouring rain Saturday morning? That meant two things : I couldn’t wear my cool earth day shirt and I couldn’t bring my phone to take pictures… Sad…
Though the rain made it miserable and a little cold, once the race started I was good to go. My i-pod decided it didn’t want to work so this was my first race without music. Even though the elements were against me I made my goal!!! I ran the four mile race in 30:52. Which means….. I ran at a 7:43 pace!!!! Woah. That is fast for me!
After the race I headed to New Jersey to relax and celebrate Easter.
We had an egg decorating contest…
Ryan made the decision that he won…
Pretty Easter flowers
The weather was absolutely beautiful on Sunday. I even laid out in the sun for a little bit!
While I relaxed Ryan and his brother played catch and Bailey tried to steal both the baseball and the glove.
After all that running around she was one tired puppy!
I totally forgot to take a picture of the CAKE that I love… I’m sorry. I promise next time it’s served I will snap a photo! I think I was just so excited to eat it! I also didn’t get a long run in 😦 I was too full of cake…
This week it’s suppose to rain a bunch so running in Central Park might not happen as much as I would like… Sunday is the Long Branch Half-Marathon! I’m already getting nervous!

After work I had to go pick up my race stuff for tomorrow so I decided to run to the NYRR Headquarters. It’s a little less than two miles each way. Piece of cake right?!
As I began my run I was met with lots of tourists. On bikes, walking, riding in pedi-bikes as well as horse carriages. Central Park was PACKED. Spring was definitely in the air and everyone knew it. It was like a big party in the park.
I took the following photos while running… That’s why they’re not the best quality 😉
The Guggenheim Museum
Pretty tulip trees
I just about died when I saw this! A FROZEN YOGURT TRUCK!!! If only I had had money with me…
On my way back to work to get my stuff… This part of the run was nice, no tourists… no crazy drivers
This was my favorite. It reminded me of when my family and I went to Paris when I was in 5th grade.
I loved my run in Central Park today and I can’t wait for the race! Lets hope the rain stays away!!!
PS – Since tomorrow’s run is in honor of Earth Day I will be wearing a very special shirt… Don’t worry you will see pictures!
This past weekend was full of fun and relaxation. I thought I’d show you through photos…
The rain didn’t stop us from heading out and finding lunch and Starbucks of course.
Ryan was craving falafel so we went to Maoz. Which was soooo good!!
Clean plate club!
Many hours later it was time to make dinner. The book I’m reading has recipes throughout so we picked one. Pasta Carbonara
We also enjoyed wine sent from my parents in Oregon 🙂
Fun Fact about Ryan: When I say WE cooked together I really mean HE did… I’m more like an assistant. Somehow he always takes over the cooking… I’m not complaining, I know the meal will be good!
Dinner is served! Just in time for House Hunters…
Meeting up with friends!!! Me and my friend Lisa
Sunday was the Boston Terrier Meetup.
Bailey had a ball!
The weather was perfection
A successful weekend must always end with frozen yogurt… and lots of candy on top…
PS – No, I didn’t run… I’m battling a mini sore throat… I think I’m winning

So remember how I said it hadn’t rained all day and I was upset that I didn’t bring my running gear to work??? Well, right when I got home it started pouring. Thunder and lightening even made an appearance!
So I made my way to the gym and jumped on the treadmill and just watched the rain and listened to my Ipod as I ran. It was nice and relaxing. Besides me being all sweaty and gross… They really should work on the air conditioning in the gym…
After my run I made a delicious dinner! I had a turkey burger and a baked potato. I’d forgotten how good baked potatoes are. Even though I did have to call my Mom and ask about the baking time and oven temp for the potato, everything turned really tasty! Thanks Mom!!!
I ran a good five miles and then did some strength training so my left glute muscle that hurt during the half-marathon doesn’t act up again and gets nice and strong.
I’m not sure what I’m in the mood for tonight… Running or the Jillian Michael’s DVD… What do you think???
Today it was supposed to start raining at around noon and not stop until Wednesday night. This morning I saw the forecast and was pretty disappointed because I really wanted to run outside after work.
I left my running stuff at home and went off to work with umbrella in hand and wearing my rain boots.
Guess what. It rained for about an hour at lunch and stopped. It’s almost 5 o’clock and it’s not raining…
Now I know. Bring my running gear just in case the news and weather.com is wrong. They’re wrong a lot of the time.
So now I have a date with the treadmill in my gym… Oh well, I’ve learned my lesson.
When in doubt bring running gear.
