This is my little gym that I’ve created. Instead of going to the gym to take a class I work out with my trainers right in my apartment! I have my favorite workout videos from Tone it Up! on my Pinterest account so I just rotate through them.
Sometimes I’m really not in the mood to go to the gym – this morning was one of those days. Running didn’t happen but some great cross training did! I got a total body workout in 35 minutes.
The Tone it Up! videos are fun, motivating and gets you sweating right away. They really are a great morning workout!
Goals for this weekend: Run Saturday and Sunday. One of those days needs to be long run. (11 miles).
The Lara Bar Coconut Cream Pie bar might be the best thing in the world. I bought one this morning for breakfast and my world was turned upside down. The ingredients that make this little guy so delicious are: dates, unsweetened coconut, almonds, cashews and extra virgin coconut oil. I might now be a tiny bit obsessed…
Another thing I’m loving: The Tone it Up workout videos. They’re free and can be found on their website or on YouTube. My two favorites are the Bikini Strap workout and the Beach Bum workout. I try to do two sets of each video once a day.
I’m so happy it’s Friday. AND it’s a three day weekend!!! Lots of relaxing is going to happen 🙂 Oh! And some running too!
So I think my body is trying to decide if it wants to be sick or not. Yesterday I woke up with a mini sore throat. NOT GOOD. I have a race on Saturday – Body – Didn’t you know this!? I don’t have time to be sick. So, I need to kickstart into action and beat this thing before it gets going. Emergen-C packets have been taken, lots of sleep will happen, and I’m not sure if I’m going to get a run in before the race.
What foods are you suppose to eat? Lots of fruit? Right? And lots of water?
Though I wasn’t feeling too hot last night I did do this ab workout. It was super hard but awesome. And I could do it in my apartment while watching TV. Perfect 🙂

You live longer once you realize that any time spent being unhappy is wasted.”
Life is full of choices. You can choose..
~ who to hang out with
~ what to eat
~ when to exercise
~ where to live
~ and most importantly, how to feel..
Choose to be happy. You deserve it. ♥
Do what makes YOU happy. You only live once, right? So go out there AND LIVE!

This morning I woke up and went to the gym. Lately I haven’t been good about getting to the gym before work and I’m so happy I pulled myself out of bed and went today!
Before the gym….
Then I drank some of this (coffee protein drink – love it) and felt awake and ready to go!
I got a great workout on the elliptical and felt awesome!!! (Still pretty excited about the Ducks big win)
I hadn’t been on an elliptical in a long time and it was great to mix up my workout. My legs are still pretty sore from the past workouts this week so I thought this would give them a good break.
After the gym and I had my Meta-D drink from the Tone It Up Plan… It doesn’t look pretty but it tastes pretty good and it boosts your metabolism. So why not?! Healthy and toned in 2012 here I come!
This weekend Ryan and I are going to New Jersey. My goal is to get a semi-long run in either Saturday or Sunday. Crossing my fingers I do it!!!
Anyone else use protein drinks??? I love Click. It really tastes like coffee!
How do you get to the gym in the morning?? What motivates you? Before the Portland Marathon I was so good about it! Now… not so much…

Last night I had to sneak in a quick workout before my dinner date with Ryan. I did this workout and it was awesome! It’s from the Tone it Up Plan. You jog for 5 minutes (warm up) sprint for 30 seconds, run for 2 minutes and continue the sprint for 30 seconds and run for 2 minutes until you reach 30 minutes. I changed it up a little bit and increased my sprinting time up to 1 minute since I didn’t even have 30 minutes to get my run in. I got 2.15 miles in before I had to meet Ryan at my apartment. 🙂 There’s always time for a workout! This workout kicked my butt and I highly recommend it if you want to work on your speed and endurance. Great for training for a race!
For dinner I made us a lovely quinoa dinner! I was a little nervous Ryan wouldn’t like it but he did! We had quinoa, black beans, garbanzo beans, spinach, onions, mushrooms and chicken. I made it kind of like a stir fry. We also had Wasa bread with humus. Yum. Oh, and some red wine… Thanks Mom and Dad!
I’m not sure what my workout is for tonight… My legs are pretty sore from the TBC Class the other night and my run last night…
What’s your workout tonight???
Since I don’t have a camera I rely on my friends to take pictures at different events we go to… (Some times they lose their cameras and then everyone is out of luck :-() Not the best planning on my part, but here are some photos from New Year’s Eve!
So. Yesterday I signed up for the Tone it Up Plan. I have been reading about the plan for about a month now and I finally caved in and bought the plan after reading great reviews on yet another blog. I love how motivated the trainers Karena and Katrina (below) are and their workouts are great! They also have a great outlook on healthy eating (One of my 2012 goals).
After my three mile run (and before Total Body Conditioning Class which might have been the most difficult class I’ve ever been to – I’m so sore today!!) last night I went to the grocery store and stocked up on some of TIU must have items. Quinoa was one of their faves.
I had never had it before and might have been a little nervous… I mixed the quinoa with black beans and garbanzo beans and added some sautéed spinach to the mix. AND IT WAS REALLY GOOD!!! And super filling. Also, by following the directions, I made a bunch – which I can eat over the next few days and test out some different food items in it.
I’m loving all the recipes in the Tone it Up Plan and I can’t wait to get cooking and try out all the different TIU Workouts!
