I can’t believe it’s only Tuesday! Man oh man am I tired.
Last night we had our biggest event of the year at work.
Highlight of the night – Meeting Bill Cowher and hanging out with about 200 athletes. Most of them Olympians.
With all of the stress from work I’ve really been trying to make more time to relax and eating healthy foods a priority. You really have no idea how much of a difference it makes. Even just taking time to take a bath relieves so much stress.
This bath soak from Kerstin Florian is my favorite: link here
Remember today is the last day to win some awesome granola from Wildway!

I am beyond happy it’s Friday. Two reasons. Weekend!!!! AND just two more days of the Olympics! Don’t get me wrong. I love the Olympics. BUT having a job that revolves around the Olympics is not fun. It’s stressful and a lot of work. The five hour time difference doesn’t help either.
This weekend I’ll be going to Ryan’s house in New Jersey. I can’t wait to relax! I’ll have to run and do some work but it’s going to be a great weekend and much-needed. (and I’ve missed the puppy!!!)
Lots of running will be happening until the end of August (pace leading, one race and long runs) and then we’ll (Ryan and I) be off on our Washington/Oregon Trip!!! We’re both super excited! Lots of planning has happened and we’re going to be fitting a lot into an eight-day trip. A Dave Matthews Band Concert, visiting Space Needle and downtown Seattle, hiking, my friend’s wedding, wine tasting with my parents, my annual pool party, and more! I can’t wait!!!! I really do love the West Coast a whole lot more than the East Coast 🙂
Happy Friday Everyone!
This week. I am so happy it’s almost over. Work has been crazy and way too stressful. All of this craziness will end when the Olympics end. So that’s on August 12th… Just nine more days. THANK GOD.
I do want to stay positive though so here are so things that have brightened my week:
1) Tuesday night I went out to dinner with the girls I lived with in college. It was great to see them and catch up on their lives.
2) Wednesday night Ryan came over and we made the best dinner. Pork chops, sweet potatoes and brussel sprouts.
3) After an extremely long and stressful Thursday I made myself go run outside. I ran on the Bridle Path in Central Park and my bad mood just slipped away.
4) I also picked up my race bib yesterday for the Team Championship race on Saturday. I’m excited/nervous! Oh and there’s a huge bagel breakfast afterwards! YES!
5) I was nominated by Elisha over at jumpeatrun for the Beautiful Blogger Award!!! Thank you so much!!!
So, even though my work week totally sucked. My after-work life didn’t. If that makes sense 🙂 I always try to stay positive and look for the good. If people didn’t they would be pretty miserable all the time, right?!
Check back later for my full Beautiful Blogger Award post 🙂 You’ll find out some interesting/fun stuff about me!
My boss and I went to the World Marathon Majors press conference yesterday afternoon! The NYC Marathon fun didn’t stop!
Emmanuel Mutai of Kenya and Liliya Shobukhova of Russia were the champions of the 2010–2011 World Marathon Majors series, and both were presented $500,000! click here for more info
Both speeches were very uplifting and motivational. They were both very grateful for all the support the running community gives elite runners and they couldn’t wait to spend their winnings haha (Mutai actually said that!)
Watching the marathon and going to different events (Runners World Party, Frozen yogurt with Janae, Crumbs with Janae and Sarah) made me so excited about running next year and just love the sport of running even more. Once I get over this cold/chest congestion thing (???) I can’t wait to start training again. I would love to set a PR at the Red Rock half!
PS – I’m famous!
You guys. I am so excited!!!
Next week I’m going to the Runner’s World Experience!!! For work!!! Me and my boss are going and I can’t wait.
All the editors from the magazine are going to be there giving tips from nutrition to training. I’m going to be in heaven. I hope I don’t act like a starstruck dork when I meet the editors…
PS – One month from today I will be crossing the finish line at the Portland Marathon!!!!!!
